BRUNO MORATO
FIGURATIVE ITALIAN ART

PAINTINGS - FRESCOS

THE ARTIST'S GAZE

The hope that the world would be a better place has been shattered. Society seems to be at a standstill, lost.
I feel this disorientation in my painting, which has perhaps taken a new turn. But my gaze remains steady, ready as ever to regale with the poetry of life, and it is this that moves me still.

The human figure has long been a source of passion for Bruno Morato. Even as a young man he was devoted to portraiture – starting from a bare few lines in pencil, and over time perfecting the art...

He paints en plein air in Padua, the Euganean hills, Venice and its surrounding marinas, the many cities and towns he has visited, both in Italy and abroad. His gaze dwells but briefly on nature...

Bruno Morato  creates still lifes that correspond so well to the Netherlandish aesthetic, as compositions of objects painted with grace and precision. For this genre, his gaze has a twofold focus...

BRUNO FROM HIS FRIENDS

Discreet and Silent Observer

I have known Bruno Morato for a long time; as the neighbour of Bruno and his wife Carla, we all shared in the growth of our respective families. Even then, during those years interwoven with hopes and reality, duty and joy, Bruno always was discreet and quiet. This was his way of observing life – as his countless sketches and paintings bear witness to his delicate and sensitive artistic perspectives.
